James Blake Just Dropped the Album of the Year

James Blake just dropped the album of the year.

The producer for your favourite artists like Kendrick Lamar, SZA and Travis Scott is back with his eighth body of work. From features on songs like "Til Further Notice" to writing credits across Beyonce's "Lemonade," he has spent years in a subtle role as a guest artist.

But "Trying Times" is different.

He is back on his warm alternative R&B bag with glitchy electronic touches, and his voice sounds as heavenly as ever. Just listen to the opening track, "Walk Out Music," and you will understand why he himself thinks this is his strongest work yet.

The project explores love as the quiet saviour as the world falls apart outside. Something we all wish we could relate to.

Blake has never been afraid to take risks and change up his sound, but this album feels like a solid culmination of everything that came before it. Its influence will be felt as we go on. "Trying Times" has something for everyone, arriving when we all collectively needed it the most. Give it a listen and tell us your favourite track.
